Brain Freeze

Its strange how all the interesting ideas that you are dying to execute, swim about in your head when there is absolutely no time or opportunity to do it. And the moment there is time, your mind goes blank and your brain turns into jelly (maybe the latter is just electromagnetic pollution) and there is not even an inkling of an idea you can float with.

That is where I am at, this present moment. Blank. And it is excrutiating.

Testing Times

Its finally time. Time to wrap up the courses, the spoon feeding, the short cuts and the late submissions. Diploma projects are breathing down our necks and its time to get prepared for the long lonely road ahead...So voila! What we get to do now is a prelude to our diploma projects - our very final project, of our very final term, of our very final year.

It is to be a completely self initiated project, where we meet with our project coordinators only twice a week to map our progress - the idea, the process and the outcome are completely individual and independent of the class. It is an exciting prospect to be steering one's own ship completely. It means we can pick a subject we are passionate about, work with techniques that stimulate us and are at complete liberty to determine what form would best represent our concepts. It is also a rather daunting idea to be left on my own for five weeks and expect to avoid Procrastination, my veritable nemesis.

My biggest challenge will definitely be managing my time in the face of all the freedom and flexibility. But I am looking forward to it... I have a feeling this might actually be FUN.
