Moodboards

Coming up with mood boards for this particular project was a lengthier almost inverted process since I had decided to lead with the materials and then have everything else follow suit. The concept demands that the Theme or Look is not arbitrarily decided which requires creating new material. Rather it made sense to collect segregate and explore with the material before deciding what the themes were to be so that one had a pre formed idea about the colours textures and combinations available.

Having gone through these preliminaries I decided i wanted to create 3 basic looks through my collection which cater to the different facets of my clients lifestyle. The first is an informal day look with a focus on practicality resilience and functionality. This includes materials like leather plastic cottons etc with metal highlights using old car parts and such.

The second is more of a resort look for semi formal events. The materials would include silk in jewel tones, braids in chiffon ribbons, cotton velvets etc. The colours are definitely tropical and the mood is vibrant:

The third look is more formal classic and intricate. The mood is opulent yet understated and materials would include a liberal dose of brocades, sheer fabrics, tussar, silks and finished leather:
